Bluesman - Jailhouse Harp Dupree

Sleepy Back Blues

Dal lal dal lal lal dal lal

Cigarettes rust through my lungs

Whilst bourbon fires up my soul

Yes them Cigarettes rust through my lungs

Whilst bourbon fires up my soul

I’m Sleepy Back Lee, Sleepy Back Lee

And this is the Sleepy Back blues

Dal lal dal lal lal dal lal

The ladies don’t wander to this part of town, no more

They moved uptown to where the new cats crawl

Yea, The ladies don’t wander to this part of town, no more

They moved uptown to where the new cats crawl

I’m Sleepy Back Lee, Sleepy Back Lee

And this is the Sleepy Back blues

Dal lal dal lal lal dal lal

Time was once all I had

Now time has gone and left me here

I said Time was once all I had

Now time has gone and left me here

I’m Sleepy Back Lee, Sleepy Back Lee

And this is the Sleepy Back blues

Dal lal dal lal lal dal lal

No coke, no jive, can’t even afford a ride

Just music, smokes and bourbon keeping me alive

No coke, no jive, can’t even afford a ride

Just music, smokes and bourbon keeping me alive

I’m Sleepy Back Lee, Sleepy Back Lee

And this is the Sleepy Back blues

Dal lal dal lal lal dal lal

Whilst Cigarettes rust through my lungs

and bourbon fires up my soul

Yes them Cigarettes rust through my lungs

Whilst bourbon fires up my soul

I’m Sleepy Back Lee, Sleepy Back Lee

And this is the Sleepy Back blues

Dal lal dal lal lal dal lal
